Hello from Rio de Janiero!  We've arrived at our Olympic hotel and have completed training camp!  We're one day away from starting the games....and all of us are excited to get on the court!
We took a tour of the main arena where a majority of the men's games will be played.  Very cool to see the rings on the floor!  The facility is beautiful!
Today we have free until head to the Opening Ceremonies tonight!  I hear it is quite the event, so naturally, I'm very excited to see it!
Of course, I know many of you are waiting to see what my "uniform" looks like - in fact we have to wear it to every game we work.  It's Olympic protocol and every official has to wear it!  Some officials have to actually officiate in it - I only have to wear it to and from the venue:)  Yes, yes....I will send a picture of it for you all to enjoy!
Off to enjoy some shopping at the Olympic store!  More to come!!!!

  1. Amazing Karen! So so happy for you my friend. Curious, do you walk with Canadian athletes or with the officials or do you walk at all (maybe you just get to watch)?

  2. Hello! So exited for you to experience the walk in! You've trained hard to get here. You mentioned the Olympic Hotel you're staying at, are all the officials housed in the same area? How are the venues? Media coverage is full swing here on the athletes. Can't wait for the opening ceremonies and the first look at your uniform!

    1. We don't actually get to "walk in" with them but do get to watch them of course...but that's likely what you meant:) Only the handball and the basketball officials are at our hotel. Others are placed closer to their event sights as we're pretty spread out.

    1. Our hotel is brand new which of course can be a nightmare for things working properly out the chute. That said...aside from spotty internet...seems good!
